| New Beginnings, a Source of Hope
New Beginnings, a Source of Hope….. to be held on Tuesday September 30, 2008 from 10 am until 3 pm at the Hewitt Business Center (1001 South Marshall Street). The Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Program, the Forsyth County Detention Center and Tabernacle of Faith Church are pleased to announce the employment expo for offenders. Our goal is to provide individuals with misdemeanors or felonies on their criminal record a ‘source of hope’ and renewal.
More than seventy-five employers are invited to attend the premiere event, as well as several resource providers including the Offenders Connection Network, Forsyth Technical Community College and the Legal Aid Society. OCN core partners who will be represented at the expo are: CORE, The Darryl Hunt Project, Eureka House, The Ivy House: Center for Self-Sufficiency, New Birth (CDE), Northwest Piedmont Council of Governments, Project Re-entry, Service Corps, and Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Program.
Everyone is invited to attend New Beginnings, A Source of Hope to discover employment opportunities and resources available in the community. Over 70% of all offenders are unemployed at the time of re-arrest. Let’s work together to change that statistic. Please feel free to call 336-776-6720 with any questions you may have. Bring your resumes, dress for success, and join us to meet with employers.
